Stripping Your Pearland Roof
When it comes to a roof replacement, we actually begin by stripping down all of your current roofing down to the foundation, which we also refer to as the decking. To do so, we rip off all of your roof shingles and the underlying felt that protects the deck from getting wet.
Protect The Decking
Once your roof is stripped, we will inspect the wooden deck to determine whether it is compromised or not. If it is, we may have to replace it as well. At this stage, it is time for us to install all of your brand new roof shingles, based on which type of roof shingles you purchased.
Old Roof Jacks
Once your new roof shingles are installed, older roof jacks that cover any piping will need to be stripped as well to ensure as much protection as possible. We will replace these and get them up to code for you and attach vent caps.
Brand New Roof Flashing
Due to the way roofs are designed, some areas tend to be more prone to water damage and roof leaks. These areas include skylights, valleys, and your chimney and will need to be stripped and felted so we can apply all new flashing that provides extra waterproofing to these components of your roofing system. We will install and paint your flashing here so it matches your shingles.
